Family Visit from FL!

Stacey (Todd’s stepsister) and brother –n-law Phil were here a few weeks ago. It was their first time here in Austin, and of course they were impressed with how beautiful it is here!

It was so nice to have them here, we enjoyed visiting and I enjoyed getting to know my sister-n-law more! The boys had fun too! Gabe has a new best friend, just make sure you have your Harley and gloves when you come again Stacey! :)

They were here to partake in “Garage Night”, of course a trip must be planned around this, I mean the birth of my children were planned around it! LOL!! They rented Harleys and took off for a ride in the Hill Country and stayed the night in Fredericksburg. They had a wonderful time, even though it was misty and overcast!

We were able to get away for half a day with them for a gorgeous ride!  One that has been a long time over due for me! Stacey & Phil rented bikes, so we got to ride a Street Glide and WOW my booty was thanking them BIG TIME!  What a difference a seat makes! :) We rode into Gruene and had a delicious lunch with a really pretty ride to go along with that! Good TIMES!

Funny Gabe

While driving in the rain, Gabe is talking about the weather…

“Mama God makes the rain and thunder, and he can make it stop too.” then in a deep serious voice he says “Remember that time we had to get in the bathtub, because there was a POTATO outside?” this would be a tornado! lol

I had just washed my hair, because I had paint in it from painting a friends room…

“Mama, you still have paint in your hair!”

“I do, is it green?”

“Nooooo (PAUSE) in a deep voice Mama you have dinasour hair!”

“I do…(laughing) what color is it (of course I have  a feeling where this is going) WHITE.! So off I went to get color in a box!! :)

FAMILY/FRIENDS

Would you say  friends and family are the same?

I would……

I feel that friends and family are people that know your heart and know you would NEVER do anything to hurt them intentionally. Of course there will be times when you hurt someone or they hurt you, but can you forgive?

I feel that if someone has a history of hurting you and you have had many troubles, than, it may be time you need to evaluate the relationship. It may be that you need to distance yourself from them, but can you still forgive?

Forgiveness – We should all strive to forgive as Jesus did, where it is erased and you forget……how hard this can be for all of us.

Have you ever reached out and reached out, but got nothing in return! It can really hurt to think that, there was ONE thing you did that hurt them, whether you meant it or not in your whole relationship yet that’s what they hang on to.  To me it’s sad and it’s when you realize you never really mattered to them anyway, so STOP reaching and realize that maybe they are not suppose to be in your life.

I don’t about you, ………but,  are you perfect? I bet your answer would be NO WAY, right? Have you ever made a mistake, ever said or done something you didn’t mean to do, or someone really did take it the wrong way, or you were honest and didn’t lie? Maybe you stuck up for what was right and saw that someone was being treated unfairly, or maybe  spoke up when someone was being  judged and tried to do the right thing. Even when you do the right thing there will be people that are going to get mad.

What about change and growth in you life and most importantly the change and growth in your walk with the LORD? Do you believe that most people will change and grow for the BETTTER and that IF they have the HOLY SPIRIT living inside them you will have the opportunity to see BEAUTIFUL things happen? Do you believe that even when someone changes for the good, that sometimes they take steps back or simply maybe they are not moving at all, just staying the same?

What about closure? Is there someone you don’t have closure with? Do you have that anxious feeling like you need to talk with them? Guess what, if you don’t know this already, YOU WILL NOT ALWAYS have CLOSURE in your life.

It took me along time to realize that I don’t have to fix everything, when GOD is on my side! You may have people in your life…Family or Friends that are no longer “active” in your life…Are you trying to get them back? GUESS WHAT???? This may be a blessing from GOD! What I mean by this is that, we tend to automatically think that blessings will be these great things we love and want, NOT things we don’t want to happen! God takes people and things “SOMETIMES”out of your life all together or for short times in your life as blessings too. Do we see it right away…no, but down the road we will. Sometimes they will come back and that is when we see “maybe” why and get to see something really cool that God did in your life or theirs!

One last question…Is loosing a family member or a friend to any of these questions the same?

I Believe in Unconditional Love

MOMMY Update

It’s been awhile since I’ve written, I feel as though my life is getting busier and busier by the day OR minute! In the midst of a busy life with my 2 boys…wait 3 boys counting Todd, I started working part-time the first week in March doing outside sales for a Printing Company and I managed to run a 10K with 2 of my best buddies! Yes I said a 10K…I must say I’m very proud of myself, for not training very much, I did really well! We stayed together and finished in an hour and 15 min! What a RUSH ….I am so addicted and can’t wait for the next run and look forward to seeing how well I can do when I really train!

Part time - Our friend is the owner of the Printing Company and has given me a position that I can be super flexible in, it has been a blessing in the sense that I have been able to work in the afternoon and have found a sweet young lady to watch the boys here at the house. There is NO WAY I would put my boys in day care when I would basically be working to pay them…ARE you CRAZY! All my girlfriends said how expensive it was, but I called juuust to check…AND HOLY COW…ridiculous! You would think that in these times it wouldn’t be that much!  But I guess if you look at it like this and I know you will agree that being a MOM is the MOST important job in the WORLD , MOST difficult, but the MOST rewarding!

I had a pretty professional life before my boys and had several important positions with jobs through out  my life. Some  very tedious and deadline driven, but also wonderful rewarding jobs,  for example traveling the world as an Event Planner, BUT  none of them and I mean NONE of them can compare to being a mommy! As a mom you don’t have even a second to problem solve…”Ok sure I’ll get right back with you on that.” HA! You must come up with an answer immediately, especially when it is a learning situation! ;) You can’t call in sick, or delegate out the things that you just DON’T  want to handle that particular day, no one seems to care how bad your head is throbbing or back is hurting, and of course you can’t quit! Or how about this one…“I’m going to step outside the office a minute and clear my head, get some peace!” HA HA HA no time for that, maybe when your HEAD HITS THE BED! LOL  As they say in show business THE SHOW MUST GO ON….so I say to all my sweet mommy friends…What a Beautiful Entertaining Show we have…it’s by far THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH!!!!!!

Mommy & her FIRST Weekend Away!

Yep you read it right, I had my first weekend away from my little boys! I have only been away from Gabe 1 night when I was pregnant with Seth, so this was a BIG deal….at least for me! Ha

My weekend started Friday morning! I am so glad that Gabe did not cry when I left, because usually anytime I leave he cries…I guess I prepared him enough with letting him know ahead of time what was going to happen.  I left the house around 9:00 and headed to a Worship Ministry Retreat which lasted until about 4:30, but I snuck out at 3:00 to head to Burleson!  The conference was really good and I enjoyed seeing my friends.  The drive to Burleson went by really fast and my best friend Ena was waiting for me…we could hardly wait to see each other! It was very weird after I had been there for about 15 min, we were standing in the Kitchen and I just naturally looked down as if to see where the boys were and it was a CRAZY feeling to know that they were not going to run in and be standing at my legs! We had a fun evening talking and eating of course MEXICAN food!! I started missing them when I was getting ready for bed, but finally fell asleep and then woke up several times in the night and didn't really sleep very late! Woke up at 8:00 and had my quiet time which was nice and then Ena and I went to Crackle Barrel for breakfast…yummy!

After breakfast I headed to Ft. Worth to see my sweet friend Meredith who is attending Seminary! She has her first apartment and it is so cute! I couldn’t wait to see her, especially when I was use to seeing her once a week! We had fun, she kept me busy which helped me not miss the boys as much! lol  The busy was something I wanted to do too, love you Meredith…we painted her table and dresser and then we painted our toes! We shopped a little…window shopped! :) We had a great salad for dinner, visited and had some great laughs while trying to hang curtains….WE DID IT!!!! JOB ACCOMPLISHED, thank you very much! :) On to the Next thing…ok maybe not, we can leave that one for your dad….I may have made too many holes in the wall trying to hang that one! hee hee We went to church the next morning and then I headed back home…I skipped on the lunch, I was missing them way too much!

The drive back seemed to take longer…uhmmm I wander why….:)

I hugged them like crazy and kissed them a TON…Gabe kept coming up to me and loving on me, Seth kept laying his head on my shoulder and then raising up and looking at me very intently! Gabe said you came back just like “Little Bill’s mommy when she went on that trip! Gotta love that little show!!!

The boys had fun with their daddy and it is good for them to spend time like that together. No ER visits as Todd said! HA, only a little bobo with Gabe…he fell off a swing and scratched his chin up some, but that's it! When I asked Todd that evening how did everything go he said…"The hardest thing was I felt like I was in the Kitchen the whole time, between snacks, meals, and cleaning up.” Ha haaaa Now he reeeeally understands when I say I should just get a cot and sleep in here! LOL

Oh by the way I missed my husband too! ;)

V-Day ;)

Well Gabe gave his first rose away tooooo MIA! :) His sweetheart as he calls her, however this may need to change to princess! I just found out that she has been saying that Gabe is her Prince Charming and she is the Princess! How cute is that?!!!!? Every meal was a heart shaped one yesterday….Heart shaped French toast, Heart shaped P&J, and then Heart shaped PIZZA! Yumm Yum! Seth got a big floppy dog that Gabe named Kissy and Gabe got a small cute little dog holding a heart and he loves it, but I think he loves the chocolate waaaaay more! Ha lucky for us!!!

I got some really sweet cards and loved them all! I am a lucky girl and feel very loved!

I forget to tell you in my last post about the cute animal sounds that Seth can make…Chicken, Lion, Doggie, elephant with a arm motion, and sometimes a cow! ADORABLE! AND they both love to sing and Dance.  Seth dances to any music as soon as he hears it he starts moving!
